Academicians conferred award


THE NATION, ISLAMABAD, 11th OCTOBER 2013: An academician from the Department of Governance and Public Policy (G&PP) of National University of Modern Languages (NUML), Islamabad, has been conferred upon the coveted “Best Thesis Award” in her Master in Political Science by Central European University, Hungry.
Aliya Abbasi, a lecturer at the Department G&PP, was awarded merit scholarship by Central European University (ECU), and out of 31 students from about 20 nationalities, she was the only student in the department of Political Science of ECU from Pakistan.
Aliya wrote her thesis on the topic of “Societal Perceptions and Legal Interventions: Implication on the Well-being of Street Working Children in Pakistan’s Urban Areas” which was selected for the Best Thesis Award by the board of veteran academician at ECU.
Rector NUML Maj Gen (R) Masood Hasan, Director General Brig Azam Jamal, administrative and academic staff of NUML felicitated Ms Aliya Abbasi for her achievements and expressed pride at her earning respect and good name for the university.–Staff Reporter
