Saeed Aasi’s book launched


THE NATION, LAHORE, 07th OCTOBER 2013:- A launching ceremony of a book ‘Kab Raaj Karay Gi Khalq-e-Khuda’ by daily Nawa-i-Waqt deputy editor Saeed Aasi was held at Quaid-e-Azam Library on the concluding day of book fair on Sunday at Jinnah Garden.
The book is a collection of Saeed Aasi’s columns published in daily Nawa-i-Waqt. The ceremony was presided over by Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rasheed while a number of senior journalists and politicians addressed on the occasion.
Former foreign minister Mian Khursheed Mehmood Kasuri while addressing on occasion said that the title of the book referred to people’s empowerment. He said the writer addressed all the subjects related to human life in his book. He said the goal of empowerment of the people could be achieved when we perceived the things rationally. Although, he said, passion was also needed for the purpose.
Other speakers including The Nation Editor Salim Bokhari, Raf Tahir, Zafar Ali Raja, Syed Waqas Jafri, former state minister Qayyum Nizami, Ayyaz Zaheer Hashmi, Hafiz Tariq, Begum Mehnaz Rafi, Anwar Qadwai and others praised Saeed Aasi and said that the book was a depiction of the political scenario of Pakistan. They said Saeed Aasi was a veteran journalist who did his best to do justice with the subjects chosen for his columns and also supported democracy.
Saeed Aasi, the writer, said that he always tried to support the party who thought for the masses. He said his columns had never been music to the rulers’ ears.
