Vast opportunities for Iranian investment in energy sector: Shahbaz


THE NATION, LAHORE, 27th SEPTEMBER 2013:- Iranian Consul General Muhammad Husain Bani Asadi called on Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif here on Thursday. Matters of mutual interest, cooperation in various sectors and bilateral relations were discussed in the meeting.
While appreciating the growing strong ties between Pakistan and Iran, the Chief Minister said there are vast opportunities of investment in energy, infrastructure, transport and other sectors in Pakistan and Iranian investors should benefit from the same. Shahbaz Sharif said that maximum facilities are already being provided to foreign investors and more measures would also be taken in this regard. He said that a meat processing complex has been set up in Lahore with the cooperation of Iran.
He stressed the need for increasing the volume of trade between Iran and Pakistan. The Chief Minister said that exchange of delegations between the two countries would help strengthen trade and economic relations. He said it is time to change the close fraternal relations between Iran and Pakistan into trade and economic ties and besides promoting cooperation in different sectors, full benefit should be taken from the experiences of each other.
